The Path of Magic (Open)

[Mavis]

Mavis smiled as she walked around the backyard of the Manor that she had been allowed to stay in and she had to admit she was haveing a wonderful time. It had been a while since Mavis had been around so many people as she often spent her time on her island so that she could be closer to the Magic of the Planet thanks to the Tenrou tree on the island that she called home. Mavis smiled as she moved around in the back yard the ground under her bare feet and she had to admit it was a nice feeling to be at one with Nature Mavis smiled as she waved her hand allowing her Magic to make some small rain clouds in the back yard to water a few of the plants that were around to help perk them up.

Mavis couldn't help herself with the slight abuse of her magical power she loved plants and she saw this as her way to help them out with a little sprinkle ever now and then. It wasn't even that hard for her to do after all she was one of the Strongest Magic users around well their was that Dr Strange guy but Mavis tended to leave him alone she found him to be a slight odd ball maybe that was why his name was Strange. Mavis sighed softly at that and with a wave of her hand dissmissed the Rain clouds before the drowned the poor plants that she was trying to help."Their you go little guys a nice drink to help you grow big and strong. Mavis said this with a smile as she knelt near them giveing them a look over with her Jade green eyes.

[Megan Gwynn]

Megan stepped outside to the backyard, giving the mountains a quick look for a moment before gazing at the back. It was amazing the place was thriving as it was, considering the altitude they were at and how things were needed to maintain such a beautiful, calm, peaceful place around the mansion. None the less it was helpful when the X-men became stressed and needed a place to relax and unwind. Smiling to herself Megan was doing just that, needing a little time away from her fellow X-men and student body.

That day was rather warm so she wore faded jean capris, a plain purple t-shirt, and her sneakers with her hair pulled back in a headband. Her wings were folded behind her back since she wasn't planning to fly at this time and decided to take a walk among the garden. It was rather pleasant sometimes to keep your feet on the ground and enjoy what was around you, that was until Megan sensed the usual odd force of magic. She had had the ability for some time to sense it since she found out about the potential but so far she could summon her soul dagger and perform a teleportation spell.

None the less she grew curious and took a different path to follow where the source was coming from until she saw the child-like form of Mavis. She hadn't met the person before but she had heard they had a few recent visitors, perhaps she was one of them though she was possibly the one who had been performing magic. "Excuse me if I'm intruding but I was just curious, were you the one using magic just now?"She asked curiously, instead of being her usual sassy self.

Mavis Smiled as she moved around the Garden and she blinked slightly as she felt a slight Magical presence apporch her from behind and she turned to face who ever it was that was approching her. Mavis turned and saw Megan walking towards her and she smiled as Megan walked towards her and when she asked if it was Mavis who had been using Magic she could only nod at the young woman before she turned to face her. Mavis had to admit she could feel a slight amount of Magic comeing from the girl and she rasied an eyebrow at it.

It had been a while since Mavis had sensed anyone that had untapped Magic with in them but it was common for them to not have training due to the lack of Mages that they couldn't really be trained. Mavis shook these thoughts from her head as she smiled choseing to answer the Question that had been asked and she used her Empatich abilty to learn the girls name before she spoke. "Why yes that was me Megan Gwynn just a simple spell to help water some of the Local Plants they looked like they were thirsty" Mavis said this with a smile letting her bare feet pat the ground around her feet to smooth it out as she watched to young Woman.

A little surprised Mavis already knew her name Megan guessed she might have some form of telepathic ability, or something like it. None the less she was glad Mavis was friendly at least and she smiled a bit,"Yea we don't get much water everywhere so it's hard to make sure the plants get the amount they need. None the less it's thriving."She said as she looked at the flowers seeing they had been watered, and quite recently so it did confirm the magic she had sensed just a few minutes ago.

"I haven't seen another person who knew magic around here, least not since Doctor Strange visited before we ended up here."She said as she looked back at Mavis and seem quite interested to what magic Mavis knew. "I know I have a chance to try magic but only know a teleportation spell and can well summon a soul dagger, which has granted me able to sense magic beings and supernatural."She said.

Mavis blinked slightly at what Megan and she had to admit she had thought the mountian would get a little more rain then they did but she was wrong she frowned slighty as she listened to what Megan said and when she heard the name Doctor Strange she frowned slighty she had never gotten along with that man she didn't know why they just didn't but that wouldn't effect her on her opinon of Megan and she giggled softly when she said that she hadn't seen another magic user before they had arrived on the mountian and she looked at Megan letting her Jade green eyes shine for a bit before she spoke to the young woman.

"Well i'm not from around her only visiting for a little while but it is True I can sense a little Magic within you and with training it will grow i'm sure you probaly found some books on Magic since you would be able to sense them." Mavis smiled but her smile dropped slightly when she Relased that she hadn't introduced herself to Megan and that was just rude of her. Mavis gave Megan a slight bow as she Introduced herself to the young Woman. "I'm sorry I haven't Introduced my Self my Name is Mavis. Mavis Vermillion Mavis said this with a grin and knew that if Megan had read almost any Magical text that her name would probaly be mentioned most Mages wanted to rival her or her brother in power and they were often used as Icon's in the Magical world.

"It's nice to meet you Mavis,"Megan said with a smile but shook her head."As for reading any magic books I'm afraid I haven't had the chance to really look for them since I discovered my ability for magic. Otherwise I would know more then a simple teleportation spell."She was a little embarrassed to admit this to a possibly more powerful and skilled magic user, especially when she had a good couple years she could have learned some more spells at the most that might have proven useful.

However there were factors she had found more important to worry about at the time and some issues she had faced. Mainly the loss of her left leg and arm plus the loss of her original wings, having taken months to heal and become rehabilitated to be accustomed to the sudden changes, especially with the manifestation of her newer demonic wings. "Though I can disrupt most spells at least."She added.

Mavis listened to the girl but she didn't see anyharm in her lack of magical knowledge the books were rare in the modern age but she smiled softly at the girl and she had to admit that it was true she probaly would know more then a simply telaportaion spell. "I'm sure that is true but like everything else it takes time to learn and study". Mavis smiled softly as she walked towards Megan and she could tell that they were tings weighing on her mind and she had to admit she could probaly help the girl and Mavis couldn't help herself as the thought came to mind.

Mavis turned to face Megan letting he Pure Jade eyes catch Megan's as she gave the girl a grin and finaly asked the girl a Question. "Would you like to learn some more about Magic I could probaly teach you a thing or too if you want and it wouldn't be that hard. Mavis said this the wind moveing around her slightly alowing he blond hair to blow in the breeze as she waited for the Answer to her question.

MEgan nodded slightly, knowing it had taken her a few times to get her teleportation spell right but with how many times she needed to teleport from the mountain or the others, she had plenty of practice. Though she also knew she had to be careful that she didn't panic unless she risked a 'blind' teleport to the location needed. Thankfully it hadn't happened yet but still it seemed things could happen at some point or other.

Mavis's next request made Megan look at her with surprise, it'd certainly be the first time she could learn new spells while she could. And it might be useful. "Sure, I'd love to learn more and I think we could really use more help."She said with a smile,looking quite hopeful she could be of much more help to her teammates.

Mavis couldn't help but smile slightly when Megan said that she wanted to learn, and entered her thinking pose trying to decided on what spell she would teacher her. Mavis sighed sometimes she wished she didn't know half of what she did but she finaly decided on what she could teach the young girl. Mavis didn't allow her smile to falter in the least as she turned to the girl and claped slightly before giveing her wirsts a shake to get them ready. "Alright i'll teach you something Basic that can help you when exploring in dark locations it's a light spell called Magelight were the caster creates a small ball of light that hovers near them the light shines up to 10 feet.

Mavis held her hand infront of her and focused for a second gathering the small amount of Magic she needed for the spell before speaking the command for the spell in latain "Shine " With that a small ball of light formed in her hand before bounceing out of it and hovering near her

Megan patiently waited for Mavis to figure out the spell she wanted to teach her, wondering what she was thinking about. Though luckily the one thing the young teen hadn't lost was patience, her attitude and sassy nature often showing otherwise but in times such as trying to learn something new she showed some bit more of patience. But when Mavis finally spoke Megan listened and nodded, wondering what this magelight would look like when it was casted and she didn't have to wait long.

"Seems simple,"Megan said confident this would be quite easy to do. Raising a hand she focused on her magic for a moment before repeating 'shine' in latin and watching as a similar ball of light came from her hand and floated a short distance away from her."Cool."
