[Clinton Barton]

The archer had been on the run still, not really sure why or for a reason but to still constantly get away from those horrible machines and monsters that had been created by Apocalypse. As he hid in the shadows he felt sweat drip from his face as he rubbed it off onto his shoulder. Even in the hot sun his body could not cool down, but as he rested against the bricks for a few minutes he felt cooler, but now he found a reason to move on. To move towards water and refresh there for a little while. The thing was however he had to get there first.

He realised now that there was movement nearby as he got out his bow silently and began to string it with one of his arrows. He wasn't going to take a chance, for all he knew this person could have been another one of those supposed peace keepers or robots. As he let go of the arrow it had flown through the air and then hit the target perfectly as sparks came out of the robot's chest and fell to the ground. He strung his arrow again, thinking he had heard another noise nearby. "Who's there?" He asked byt it was in a mere whisper wondering if he had just heard something.

Amethyst quickly ducked behind a corner, panting slightly as a few tracker drones were coming by and having been tailing her for some time. Though the neyaphem mutant was finding it hard to keep going without them at last getting her, which at this rate it was only a matter of time before they got her. Taking a deep breathe she quietly began to climb up along side the building, trying not to make much sound that would alert the trackers she was there and what was worse was she was hearing more of the patrols around nearby, making her even more nervous.

But she got to the top without issues, sighing in relief and hurrying to move across some buildings before coming towards the end of one street. But as she was crawling along the next wall she heard someone say something, making her freeze for a moment before peeking around. But she was shocked to find a destroyed machine nearby and swung down before finding herself face to face with an arrow and it's owner Hawkeye, "Whoa relax, I'm not with them!"She said with her hands up.

But as she peered at Hawkeye with her mismatched dark blue and green pupil-less eyes she frowned slightly as she recognized him."Wait a minute your an Avenger aren't you? I remember seeing your team a lot on the news."She said with a little surprise but she couldn't recall who he was.

Hawkeye put down his bow showing that he would not attack her, but it was ready just in case someone else did, or she was going to make a move on him when he least expected it. For being on the run now it had been difficult, but at least for now he would treat the Neyaphem with less hostility. “Yes I am a part of the Avengers. My name is Clinton Barton or my code name Hawkeye. You are correct on our team being pretty famous, but sadly we’ve disbanded about a year ago or so. And I’ve been on my own.” He said wondering if he had said too much at this point. However he was also starting to lean to the side that she may not be so bad after all. By now if she was a threat, she would have attacked him. So he merely did a favor and put his arrow back into his case on his back.

“I won’t attack you, but with the constant enemies on your back I thought you were a part of them. I’m also sorry for it.” He said in a bit of a confession, yet his face was calm and muscles tense. Knowing well enough, they would have to move soon if they wanted to be found by some of the robots or the patrols by the life humans. Either way, they wouldn’t get him without a fight, they weren’t getting another Avenger. But he only knew that he and Logan were left. Tony Stark or Ironman was down, and he wasn’t sure how many others had either been killed or locked away

"Hey you can relax, I'm part of the mutant team called the X-men so I'm kinda in the same boat as you in trying to get away from here."Amethyst explained as she lowered her hands, her entire form now relaxed knowing that Clinton wouldn't harm her and was likely more a friend then an enemy. Least she hoped he was a friend. "By the way I'm Amethyst Evergreen but my codename is Moon Dancer."She added since she had nearly forgotten her own name though she wondered if anyone else would wind up showing up unexpectedly. Both of them had seemed startled by the other and were still likely to turn against the other if needed.

Glancing around slightly she flicked her tail a bit and sighed,"Sadly I've had trackers on my back for hours now and my suggestion is we get moving while we can. For all we know they could find that piece of scrap pile and follow our tracks."She said as she looked back at Clinton and motioned for him to come on as she hurried away from their current spot, not wanting to risk the chance of the tracker drones following.

"Yeah I would say nice to meet you but giving the circumstances it might have to wait." Hawkeye said as he took the back as Amethyst went first. She was much more faster than he had ever hoped to be. Plus he was just a mere human. None the less they were on the same boat with the same thing in mind, getting to safety and getting out of here as fast as they could. He looked back over his shoulder to see if they were still being followed, but he hadn't seen any movement like shadows moving within the shadows, or anything he would have noticed with his good eyes.

"So far they haven't noticed but I had no choice but to destroy it since I risked getting captured. I'm not exactly going to relive my past of being framed as a crook." Hawkeye said as he managed to keep up with Amethyst. Just exactly how far they had to go was hard to say. He wanted to keep moving, to get out of here. But one point, even the neyaphem would have to rest and the two would have to stop. "But you know we have to stop soon before we die of exhaustion." He added not trying to sound mean but it was the truth.

"Clinton you play against Apocalypse you are a crook, leas tin his mind's eye we all are of who fight back and it's just something you'll have to deal with."Amethyst told him as they continued to move, glancing back once in a while or checking around other places as they went. But even if they weren't followed there were other places the forces of Apocalypse could be waiting, ready to ambush those unsuspecting and bring them to justice. Or what they felt was justice. To Amethyst it was torture and asking for a death sentence by some means, there was no true way of being 'just' here and only surviving.

But she knew Clinton was right, they would have to rest but they would have to likely make do with what they had. "I know, but we can't rest that long when we do."She said as she continued to move, pausing once in a while to let Clinton catch up since she was finding that she was faster then the human, something she sometimes forgot about.

Clint shrugged he was used to the criminal life, he was sure it was going to shock Amethyst, or at least surprise her when he mentioned it. He was used to the criminal life, though he had gotten tired of it. Here when he was on his own, he got memories of it several times where he was back in his young years of being a villian. Eventually he gave up on it and approached Tony while he was still alive, though that was a long time from now, it seemed. The Avengers had disbanded, and Stark was dead. What reasons did the Avengers have to come back, he wondered? They would only be persecuted again by Apocalypse, and he may even be next.

"Believe it or not I was once a criminal, sometimes I still rely on those instincts but I was tired of that path I was going down. I approached one of the first members of the Avengers and he let me in. But that seemed so long ago now." Clint said with a soft nod as he understood. They would have to rest but it wouldn't be for very long. He knew he would also be up for some part of the night working on arrows, or at least when he had a break he could work on some. He always had the chance to run out of them and always made sure he had enough to run for several hours, other than that he may have been in trouble. "But you are right about the resting."

Amethyst glanced at Clinton as she dropped down from using the building walls to get around, standing upright to walk or run, whichever may have been needed. He use to be a villian? He hardly seemed that now in fact she thought Clinton seemed quite nice despite their situation of trying to escape. But still it was something she would keep in mind just in case,"Sounds like you started out pretty rough Clinton though far more exciting then what I've ever done."She told him as she kept glancing around to be on alert.

Though this was one of those times she knew she would likely have to fight just to be safe, which was something she ironically hated to her core. She preferred less violent ways compared to most but in such an issue of trying to escape this was one of those times she would be willing to make an exception. "We may have to rest soon though,"

"Always have been a pretty rough life but you learn to live through it. Once I decided I didn't like it anymore, I quit the criminal life and turned to the Avengers. They weren't exactly open arms at first." Clint said as they continued on, he may have just been a human but he seemed to keep up, even if he was a bit slow. But he nodded to Amethyst, agreeing with her. They both had been running since morning, and it was probably best to stop at some point.

"Yeah that sounds good, been running all day so far." He added only in a soft voice so Amethyst could hear.

Amethyst nodded glancing around briefly before she ducking under a wall and finding at least some partial shelter from ruins that they could hide in for a while. Coming to what was once part of a concrete wall she sat down before glancing at Clinton,"I've never really had a life like your's Clinton, mine's mostly revolved around dancing and well where I lived mutant sentiment wasn't bad. Least not until it began to reach us with a few more people moving into my small town." She told him and sighed, hating to remember when she had resorted to running away from home to survive.

Flicking her tail she shook her head,"But I finally did find my place for a while to call home the last two years so it's not all bad."She said with an assuring smile. She had grown quite fond of being an X-man under Magneto, even if it was a little tough sometimes but none the less she always pushed to do her part and hadn't stopped now.

"Well that sounds a lot better than mine. Been orphaned at a young age, lost my brother somewhere along the way after joining a circus, and was a criminal for awhile before I joined the avengers. That pretty much sums up my life." Clinton said he was at least glad that she was getting a better life. For some reason in the back of his mind he felt nervous around Amethyst. It was bizzare in a way. What was with him? He was hardly nervous around girls before but he was glad that he could stay calm and quiet after practicing to control it with his marksman skills.

He found himself starting to breath heavily again as they continued to move. But at last he pressed his back against the cold wood that had been sheltered against the shadows. He took off his heavy equipment like his arrow case and sat it down near him so he could relax a bit. "But it feels nice to rest." He added.

Amethyst looked at Clinton for a long moment before sighing,"Sounds pretty rough for you then but I'm sure it'll get better Clinton. Can't dwell on the past you can only hope for a brighter future, which I think right now we do need otherwise it might be a waste in saying that huh."She said with a shrug as she sat cross legged on the concrete block and flicked her tail slightly. But it wasn't until just then did she begin to notice some slightly nervousness as well, but it was odd she suddenly felt this way.

At first Amethyst dismissed it as maybe just being nervous around enemy territory and the chances of being caught, being unable to return to the X-men. Normally it wasn't just boys she was nervous around but shy just about around everyone she didn't really know unless she was growing nervous around Clinton all of a sudden. Whatever the reason however she managed to hide it and was just glad they could rest.

"Yeah that's certainly true. With dark times like these there's a sure chance that there will be a better future." Clinton said as he looked at Amethyst. Clint had some love interest for others, like Mockingbird and Black Widow but they didn't last long. The two were engrossed in their own work or either didn't have time for love so he had to move on from them. "I know one positive thing that happened was runing into another one of the Avengers. It's good to know that some of them are still around." He said trying to carry on the conversation. He had noticed that Amethyst was a bit nervous but didn't seem to really mind it. The two were talking, and it wasn't like she was shying away because of his criminal past. That was a good sign at least.

Amethyst nodded as she looked at Clinton smiling a bit,"I remember hearing about the Avengers when I was a teenager, always loved to hear about them like everyone else at the time. But seems that's long since passed unfortunately, quite honestly I didn't think the Avengers were still around."She told him, her smile fading towards the end of her words. Truth be told she didn't think many hero groups were still around anymore, if they were then they had been laying low like everyone else.

But on the other hand Amethyst hoped that would change since they needed the change and certainly the moral boost to keep fighting. "I know the group I'm with we've been around for a long time, five years at the most from what I know. Though we're still struggling to keep that a secret from Apocalypse for as long as we can."She said to him.

"I thought about joining another team but I'm not sure how they'd deal with a former criminal on their hands. Plus the Avengers seem to forgive those kinds of people, a lot of them are ex villians or criminals like me." Clinton said as he said with a soft nod as he looked at one of his arrows for a bit as he listened to Amethyst. As far as he knew the Captain was still around and Tony Stark was dead. But even like Thor or Ant Man he had no idea if they were still around, it saddened him a bit that he couldn't see them or come to their aid if he needed it.

"But that's a good thing I know a few teams have gone into hidding and are keeping clear of Apocalypse so they can still operate. And of course there are many that are choosing to be unaffiliated and don't want any part of the war." Clint said as he finally looked back at Amethyst seeing that it may have been rude if he didn't talk to her face to face.
