A decent looking man seemed to be resting underneath a tarp that was home to a small clan of humans that were on the move. He had appeared out in the desert a few days ago finally returning to perhaps gain another child for his world. Another one, that would surely be part neyaphem, like the rest of the clan that he was the rightful leader of. There were so many that he hadn’t seen in a long time and it was saddening somewhat that he couldn’t see them. The reason for that was he was forbidden to come to Earth for several years, in fact many years. Once these humans were on the move again he was going to leave as soon as he could.

His eyes came over seeing where one of the clan members of the humans came to him, “How long have you been traveling in the desert?” He asked as Azazel looked over the man. He was thin, fit but thin from traveling these harsh deserts. What food they had been carried on their camels that they had carried with him. And most of his body was covered with light clothing, but it was clear that he had been sweating.

“A long time, I came to see if I could find a friend or two out here, but I got lost. Much has changed since I’ve gone to these parts.” Azazel said not wanting to tell the truth to these men. They would never understand. He would only tell the truth or at least some of it to his children when he came across them.

“So have we, been traveling for some years, looks like we understand each other. And just so you know, we’ll be moving tomorrow closer to the boarder of this realm. Though we’re not getting too close, or it’d get worse for us.” The man said as Azazel nodded understanding. There wasn’t much talk in him as he felt awkward around this man. They were in two different worlds it seemed.

“I understand. I plan on leaving once we get close to the boarder.” He said with a shrug.

Merrick crouched on a dusty boulder, his pupil-less blue eyes watching the barren landscape that once made up the beautiful land of Canada. Though it was unlikely they would find anything here him and his younger sister Amethyst were still on the look out for humans who would need help or signs of Apocalypse's reign spreading further then there. Of course it had come this far several times with the landscape as it was and it certainly deterred many from even attempting the feat of crossing it.

But what played against the two neyaphem was that their fur would prove to make them hotter then normal and it proved difficult to cool off. With a soft sigh he finally stood, brushing back some of his black hair and looked back at his sister who was ducked behind the rock to keep cool."Well Amethyst we have to get going, the day won't get any cooler till sun down and we might be better off."He said before jumping down and continuing on with Amethyst following.

[Amethyst Evergreen]

Indeed the environment in the Badlands was harsh and desolate, and it certainly didn't help having dark fur coats that proved to absorb the heat. It made them feel uncomfortable and miserable and Amethyst was feeling the affects of the heat quick already and had to settle behind the boulder for some shade while her brother endured it much more then she did, which sometimes she admired him for his bravery. Though she could see it was getting to him a bit as well though he'd never admit it. Showing such a weakness was beyond Merrick and she wondered if he was much like their father.

"Yea I know,"Amethyst said reluctantly standing as she followed her brother, both being in their X-men attire but her's was much more likely to keep her cooler compared to her brother and mostly because her dark purple fur drew in the heat far faster. Again however she just endured it for now, seeing the landscape they would have to travel across near the border and were prepared for whatever came their way since they did work well together when necessary.

When the silence had fallen around the two Azazel seemed to have wanted to get away from this human, it was starting to bother him now as he looked back at him. “I’m going for a short walk. I might not be back if I get close to the border at this rate.” He said assuring him that this would probably be the last time he saw him. Azazel began to make his way from the humans as he saw the human head back to tend to his cattle that seemed to want some drinking water that they had stored with him. Azazel traveled for some time before finding himself sweating underneath the Badland’s heat. He would have to stop soon; of course even the heat wasn’t going to kill him since he was immortal.

It was about fifteen minutes later until he got to the boarder to see some of the fallen buildings in his midst. Relieved, there was no one that seemed to be around; he changed into his true form into his neyaphem form. With red fur coating near his shoulders and down his back. But it was clear he had been sweating from the walk. None the less he continued on into the shadows. It wasn’t long before he stopped again noticing some movement nearby. The last thing he wanted was the humans to spot him. Yet something was telling him to go ahead and investigate.

As he crept closer to see who was there, he recognized the fur colors of the creatures, they were indeed part neyaphem and that meant that they were his children. But would he approach them so soon? He didn’t want to bring them into shock. He was sure that a bunch of his children did not know who he was. He muttered something to himself, almost like a bit of shock in his voice from seeing the two children. But Azazel wasn’t aware that the neyaphem may have heard him and his voice.

Merrick wiped his forehead as sweat began to drip through his fur and made it increasingly more uncomfortable, the walk already taking it's toll as it was several minutes since they left the boulder. But they were staying close to the border and often strayed away to avoid some Infinite that came now and again until some ruins finally caught their attention and they were both eager to have refuge from the heat at last.

But as they were arriving Merrick was alert as ever while Amethyst was immediately plopping down from exhausting, flicking her tail slightly that showed it as well and wasn't as keenly alert like Merrick. Ruins like this always made Merrick nervous though, especially in the harsh times they were in and the harsh environment, one that often held dangerous things behind it even when it had been full of beauty. It just seemed far too quiet to his liking and Merrick was soon pacing around the area to keep alert and watch over his sister while she recovered.

Though soon a noise, something akin to a shocked tone of a whisper, made Merrick freeze and draw his swords from his sides,"Who's there?! I heard you so there is no use hiding!"He demanded with a growl, though he had no idea it was the father he had only a faint memory of from when he was two.

After the long tiring walk Amethyst couldn't be happier to have found some ruins that would provide some shelter and salvation from the sun. Like Merrick she was uncomfortable from the sweat that collected under or on her fur, making some places even clump together and having to be smoothed out. But as soon as they found a good spot she plopped down from exhaustion, slowly flicking her tail that showed those very tiredness she was suffering.

But unlike Merrick she wasn't being as alert as she should have been, drinking a bit heavily from some of the canteens they had and trying to cool down. And she had even failed to hear the sound Merrick heard that had him on edge and demanding to know who was there and this finally brought her to jump up and grab her sai-daggers just in case. "Like we didn't have enough to worry about."She remarked to her brother who nodded, both watching the shadows to where Azazel was hidden.

“Please put your weapons down, you’re hardly a threat to me after all and vice versa.” Azazel said as he rolled his eyes seeing how Merrick and Amethyst were reacting to him, really he was no threat at all. And if he was, he would have attacked by now, but he had no interest in it, since killing them would have been a waste. He appeared out of the shadows showing his unusual eyes and the coloring of his fur. Once he got down from the roof top to show the rest of his body to the others he spoke up again and also stood up right instead of both four to look more approachable.

“Besides I really don’t think you want to harm your own kind, correct? But I think you two need more of an introduction then that. My name is Azazel leader of the Neyaphem.” He added as he looked over the two siblings. They looked much like Kurt in a way except the female wasn’t exact. It was true that they had their differences. But he also wanted to hear what they had thought about him. Being the leader of their group and probably as well as of him being of their father. He knew there could be some hatred behind him for leaving their family. He had made many neyaphem children and it was certainly hard to visit them all and keep track of them.

When Azazel revealed himself Merrick seemed to freeze up slightly, remembering a brief flash back of when Azazel had left shortly after Amethyst had been born, but instead of calming down he only felt enraged. Dropping his blades Merrick let out an angry cry as he shoved Azazel hard backwards and against a wall, ignoring his sister's protests for him to stop while lashing his tail in anger. "I have to wonder father why you would bother to visit us, or likely any of our half siblings, when you only abandon them!"He snarled.

His grip seemed to tighten slightly as his tail tip came over his shoulder to strike at Azazel in a fury but he grunted as Amethyst sent a lunar bolt at him that was strong enough to knock the older of the two away. It was something she rarely resorted to but sometimes when Merrick didn't know when to stop or listen to reason it happened and he was only left in shock while watching Amethyst putting her weapons away.

Amethyst was a little surprised to who revealed themselves, the man in front of them looking so much like her and Merrick but mostly her brother seemed to resemble Azazel. But before they could really talk Merrick seemed to suddenly go in a fury when he had frozen up, but to why was a mystery to her until he suddenly lunged at Azazel which surprised her. It wasn't often that her brother lost his temper unless something really upset him or annoyed him to the brink he couldn't help it. This was one of those times.

Though when this rage was escalating to Merrick threatening to kill their father Amethyst had to intervene this time, sending a lunar bolt strong enough to knock Merrick off his feet and leaving him in shock. "Merrick enough, he's our father for crying out loud and you may have known him but I never did."She snapped at him while sheathing her weapons and looking at her father, offering a hand to Azazel."I'm sorry Azazel, or father, but Merrick is sometimes like this. But also my name is Amethyst."

Azazel grunted ignoring the pain that came to him and shook it off, Merrick was weak he could tell that. The young neyaphem had years still in order to perfect anything or be anywhere near close to his stature in fighting. He knew he had once fought wolverine and the two were close, but eventually he let Wolverine win impressed by the old man’s abilities. As Amethyst let Merrick away from Azazel he finally got back up into a more comfortable position. There were cracks in the wall where Merrick had crushed him into it with both of their power. But none the less he would recover from the incident as he looked back at Amethyst and Merrick.

“First off, Neya-Merrick. Haven’t you wondered why I couldn’t visit you, or your sister? I am forbidden to come to earth at certain times. Due to a ridiculous…curse, I suppose you could say. And then I go home to watch over the others. So those like you two I couldn’t stay long and watch you grow up to become adults. And because of that useless hatred that you have built up in and clouded around your system, you never bothered to ask that question. I came to check on some of my children here since I can only stay here for a few weeks before disappearing again.” Azazel said looking back at Merrick realizing that his anger was starting to grow.

“But since you two are doing just fine I suppose I should to be on my own again to see the other children.” He said knowing that Merrick would certainly not let him stay here. But he also wondered what Amethyst would think of this as he began to turn away.

Merrick only glared back at his father, still resenting him more of the way he left then him actually leaving when he had rather snuck off instead of saying good bye. Snorting at the fact he was willing to just leave again Merrick really didn't care and turned away, walking elsewhere in the ruins to be away from the supposed father he was suppose to know and yet there was still so much hate he held for him. Even if it was so the least he could have done was said good bye instead of sneaking away like a bandit into the night.

Watching with dismay as the tension seemed strong between her father and brother there really was little she could do. Though she listened to her father and could understand the issues that came along with this curse he had, guessing someone had put upon him and perhaps their people too. But why didn't Merrick see that as well? Or was he just too hard headed to listen? She decided it was the latter and didn't want to have to deal with anger from two family members so she decided to take the initiative to try and talk to Azazel herself.

"Azazel hold on a second."She said grabbing his shoulder and stepping up beside him,"Merrick may not want to talk but I do. He's known you for two years where I never did but I don't resent that. If anything I want to know more about who and what we are, who you are, where our origins come from but our mother never knew that and unlike my brother I'm willing to listen."She told him and gave a slight smile."If your willing to sit down for a while and do so."

Azazel sighed as he looked back at his two children, Merrick was unforgiving at this point so he wondered if resoning with him was a bad thing to do at this point. But he looked back at Amethyst, he knew he left them without telling much, and maybe with these few weeks that he had on earth it would be time that he could change that now. Seeing that they were both dripping with sweat he decided on two things, that he would tell them of what he knew. And the other thing was to get them out of the heat. "Fine I'll start talking while we move. We should get out of this heat before it takes its toll on us. Having fur out in the desert isn't always the best of ideas." Azazel said as he flicked his tail for the two young neyaphem to follow.

"Now to begin on where you're from it is a place called the Brimstone dimension. The Brimstone dimension is home to our species. But I knew that we could not stay in the Brimstone dimension forever, and when we discovered more worlds out there I set out to try and bring forth more of our children. Along with you and the others. As for the 'children' we are called Neyaphem, the opposite to the Cheyaraphem those winged beasts so to speak." He said putting much hatred towards the creatures for their unforgiving abilities towards them like their blood. It could heal many and be a curse to several.

Merrick couldn't believe that his sister was actually trying to talk with their father, but he was unrelenting in giving Azazel a chance. For the most part he ignored the man until he motioned for them to come along and with Amethyst going Merrick saw no choice but to follow since he knew his sibling was less likely to fight then find more peaceful means. That was what made them so opposite to one another, while he was eager to put up a fight Amethyst was less willing if trouble occurred unless absolutely necessary.

Though none the less Merrick was curious about their origins and casually listened. But when he mentioned winged mutants him and Amethyst seemed to be thinking the same thing and exchanged a glance as he heard Amethyst say something about angels.

Amethyst nodded and began to follow Azazel, glad to finally be heading away from the searing heat that had been bothering her and Merrick the whole day nearly. Though it seemed it had been taking it's toll on their father as well for him to be finding some place to cool down, which might have been the reason why they had met him. Though she wondered if maybe it would be possible to get to know him much more since she knew Merrick had a faint memory of Azazel but she never knew him.

But as they walked she listened to Azazel as he explained what they were and where their origins lied, which meant that this Brimstone Dimension might really be just a prison for their people. So they were home after all but it shocked her more to know that there were others like them. "Wait winged beasts? Do you mean like angels?"She asked after exchanging a glance with Merrick upon hearing this.
