Player Name:(Angel)
Name:(Jean Elaine Grey)
Age:(25)
Gender:(Female)
Species:(Mutant)
Affiliation: X-Men
Apperance:(Jean can turn men’s heads without even trying, it’s due of course to the woman’s striking beauty. Her eyes are usually the first thing to capture anyone, a deep emerald green that holds intelligence and gentleness inside. Along with those green eyes is the wealth of dark red locks that fall to her waist in long layers that frame a face of flawless ivory skin and high cheek bones. She has long legs that are also the focus of attention for many men, and she moves with easy grace. She is physically fit due to all the training she does in the danger room with the X-men. Her frame is slender but well muscled and she stands 5’8” weighing in at 160lbs. )
Personality:( Jean has a very sweet personality but her personality can change, because deep down she is something more then what people think her mood can be good and bad. She has a sweet heart, always willing to do everything for anyone; she has a respect for all life even if they are not mutants. She is motherly to those who are younger then her, those who are students, even babies at times. Also very protective, if someone tries to harm someone she cares for, she will destroy anyone who hurts or even kills someone she cares for and even kill for the innocence. She is a fighter and her heart is very brave.
She is willing to go in blind folded into a place she has never been before, showing she has no fear going into dangerous areas she is willing to do it all. Her heart beats kind and true, because of her courage she sometimes over estimates and can get herself into trouble, not wanting to ask others for help. She can be proud that’s part of the reason she is the way she is, not wanting to show her weaknesses that she has. With a heart of gold she would put her life on the line.
Personality Weaknesses:
Jean relies more on her powers in combat then she does hand to hand combat though she does know how to do so. If she exerts herself too much mentally there is the chance of a backlash of power resulting in possibly passing out. She trains both physically and mentally as much as she can to keep herself ready if a battle ensues. She has a lot of self-doubts regarding her powers. There is also fear there that keeps her from reaching her full potential with her powers; she does not wish to lose control as she has seen others do before. She respects her own abilities and powers and wishes to always maintain control so she doesn’t hurt those she cares for the most. She is one to speak her mind when it needs to be spoken and it can often times get her into trouble if she doesn’t watch what she says. Mental stress is a danger to the woman given that her powers are mental and therefore rooted in her mind. Any form of stress too great for her to deal with risks her losing that fragile grip she has on keeping her powers from lashing out or back lashing. She hates people who judge her to be unstable and actually say so within earshot or if she picks it up telepathically.
Jean is a very easy person to get along with given her gentle nature; she usually has a smile and a kind word for everyone. She knows what it is like to be different as her own experiences have taught her, she is a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to who will listen and not judge. She tries to give good sound advice to those who ask for it and help better everyone’s lives as well as her own. She exhibits a strong sense of calm and understanding whenever she is around people putting them instantly at ease with her. Though Jean has a caring personality she is far from being a push over, she is very confident in herself and independent. She can be very bold and opinionated and has no problem speaking her mind if she feels it is important enough to voice. Jean stands up for what she believes in and though she is usually a calm collected person she does have a temper. It takes a lot to anger her but when she is mad you know it, she can hold a grudge as anyone else can and has done so on occasion for weeks on end.)
Equipment:(None)
Powers:( Jean Grey is an Omega-level mutant, and has been one of the physical hosts of the vastly powerful Phoenix Force who possesses god-like powers and is one of the most feared beings that ever lived. With the Phoenix Force, Jean has potentially limitless psionic powers of telepathy, telekinesis, cosmic pyrokinesis and energy manipulation - Henry McCoy has said that, based on her massive power levels, "on the Richter scale, she'd be a 12". When bonded to the Phoenix, she is said to outclass mutants, granting her complete control over matter, energy, thought, and unlimited psionic energies. She can tap into reserved energies for future generations, denying them of existence.
Jean is considered to be one of the Earth's most powerful telepathic minds. Jean Grey, as the Phoenix, has limitless telepathic powers, able to influence any individual. Jean's telepathy allows her to communicate with others telepathically, read the thoughts of others, influence and control the minds of others, project her mind into the astral plane, and generate telepathic force blasts that can stun or kill others. Jean is one of the few telepaths skilled enough to communicate with animals (animals with high intelligence, such as dolphins, dogs, and ravens). She can also telepathically take away or control people's natural bodily functions and senses, such as sight, hearing, smell, taste, or even mutant powers. A side effect of her telepathy is that she is gifted with total recall - she remembers everything.
She manifests a "telekinetic sensitivity" (called "the Manifestation of the Phoenix") to objects in her immediate environment that lets her feel the texture of objects, their molecular patterns, feel when other objects come into contact with them, and probe them at a molecular level. She can also create stargates that can transport her to anywhere in the universe instantaneously. When she engages her Phoenix powers, Jean is surrounded in a flame-like energy corona that takes the form of a large bird of prey. As the Phoenix, Jean can resurrect herself after death and is unaffected by the passage of time. It should be noted that she isn't "borrowing" the powers of the Phoenix Force (as is perceived by some due to the fact that Jean was a host for the Force); Death itself has said that Jean is the rightful owner of those powers. Further evolution allowed her to actually become one with the Phoenix Force (as opposed to serving as its host) due to her status as an Omega-level mutant with unlimited potential)
Skills:( Hand to Hand Combat

Psychology
Leadership
Cooking)
Weakness: Being human Jean can be killed by bullets, stabbing, beating ect.
Power weaknesses: Jean does have mental resistance, but if someone finds the right trigger they could bypass her defenses and attack her mind thus causing her powers to risk reacting and causing damage. Her telekinesis also has a limit of not augmented by the phoenix force, she cannot easily levitate something like the X-jet or something bigger without suffering from mental strain and exhaustion. Because of the risk of losing control of her powers due to mental stress or the surge of voices and thoughts in her mind Jean must rely heavily on others in order to help keep her stable and in control. She relies heavily on her friends and family and those closest to her in order to keep her sane.
Her ability to project thoughts into other peoples minds can be easily compromised into giving the wrong instructions that could result in physical or mental harm and in some cases death. If Jean is put under mental strain while using Psionic shield she risks the shield failing and the power used potentially back lashing against her making her useless to the team in battle. Her telekinesis is a danger if she loses control in the fact that with the phoenix force aiding in her overall power and abilities Jean could easily harm someone by causing a building to collapse on them, or any number of accidents due to her ability to move objects with her mind.
Family:John Grey- Father (Deceased), Elaine Grey-Mother (Deceased) Sarah Grey Bailey-Sister (Deceased) Charles Francis Xavier- Second father/Mentor (Deceased).
History: Jean Elaine Grey was the younger of two children born to John and Elaine Grey, the birth of their second child was a great joy, and Sarah though jealous of the attention Jean got at first, learned to love her younger sister. The family lived a middle class life as John worked as a professor for the university and was able to provide a comfortable life for his family. Jean was a bright and inquisitive toddler, always wanting to touch, learn, and discover new things. She learned how to walk and talk at an early age and when she was enrolled in school she made her parents proud. Jean’s childhood was a happy one full of family picnics, camping, swimming, watching movies, going horseback riding, and baking with her mother, a favorite pastime of Jean’s. Jean made friends around the neighborhood that she lived in and one girl named Annie Richards became her best friend. They played together nearly every day, had sleepovers, and became very close.
One bright sunny day not long after Jean’s tenth birthday the two girls were playing in the front yard while Jean’s parents sat in the living room. They had started a scavenger hunt and Annie found what had been hidden, as a joke she refused to show Jean, and the two chased each other. Tragedy struck suddenly when Annie ended up darting out into the middle of the road and got hit by a car frightening Jean badly. The child knelt at her best friends side crying and trying to get her to wake up when something strange happened. Jean could suddenly feel her friends fear and pain and could hear Annie’s terrified thoughts. Annie did not make it and Jean was left in a traumatized and comatose state frightening her parents and sister so badly that they did everything they could to attempt to bring her out of it.
When they were unable to get Jean to respond on their own they started to take her to doctors they believed could help her. As the months went on Jean barely spoke to anyone, and though she did normal things like eating and whatnot, she refused to go outside and play. Her grades in school started to suffer worrying her parents even more leaving them at the end of their ropes. At a loss on what to do the Grey family were approached by a man named Professor Charles Francis Xavier who told them that he could help Jean. Both John and Elaine were relieved that someone had finally come forward with a way to help their daughter and so they agreed to Xavier’s offer. The man offered Jean a place at his school explaining that the girl would benefit from the teaching that he could provide for her. John and Elaine questioned Xavier more about the school and he gave the answers before requesting to meet Jean in person. Agreeing John called his daughter downstairs and the thirteen year old girl settled in front of Xavier as her parents headed into the kitchen leaving them alone to talk.
Charles asked Jean simple questions and attempted to start up a conversation with her, which Jean resisted. She didn’t like the man at first until he calmly explained that he knew what had been going on with her and that he could help. The girl’s curiosity peaked she became more talkative asking how he knew about what she was going through and how he could help her. Xavier explained that he had a school that would help her learn to control the gifts that had manifested inside her without fear of her hurting anyone or scaring her family. Jean seemed excited about this and told her parents that she wished to go and be helped. John and Elaine were told that their daughter had special gifts and though they seemed surprised they allowed their daughter to go with Xavier. Jean left with the professor and went to live at his institution at the age of thirteen and as she settled in she became fast friends with another girl named Ororo Munroe. And she also met a boy by the name of Scott Summers, the two becoming friends as well and spending time together when they didn’t have classes.
Jean like the other students at the school picked up on their normal school studies and were encouraged to get good grades as if they were in a public school. When they weren’t in regular classes they took lessons to learn about the gifts they had been born with and how to control them. There were many instances where Jean was unable to control the telekinesis she possessed and it ended up in antics that left most laughing. Her telepathy was a bit harder to work with and Jean would often be alone on the grounds to try and get away from all the voices. As she got a bit older Jean started to learn how to cook, she enjoyed baking with her mother, and decided to take learning how to cook more seriously. Jean became friends with a young man named Warren Worthington who took an interest in her though the relationship did not last. Jean saw Warren as more of a friend then a romantic interest and confessed to Ororo that she felt something for Scott Summers but was too shy to speak to him about them.
When Jean graduated from Xavier’s school after completing her studies she decided to get away for a bit. Having been at the school for so long she needed a break. Jean decided her horizons needed to be further broadened and attempted to expand her cooking skills, though she had taken no formal classes, she did well enough for the manor, but professional culinary art was not her forte. She enjoyed cooking but was encouraged to keep her skills reserved for home cooking. Her next choice was to try modeling, as she had been told she had the look to do so, and the redhead managed to gain some recognition as she was featured in a few of the lesser known magazines.
Unfortunately her adventure in modeling was brought to an end when she was continually hit on by her boss, prompting Jean to quit. Realizing that she needed more experience she continued her education by attending college and gained first her bachelors and then her masters in the medical field, and psychology. Eventually she headed back to the institute when she was offered a teaching position at the school. She accepted taking up positions as the school nurse and psychologist to put her degrees to good use.
As the world started to crumble under Apocalypse’s rule Jean banded together with the rest of the X-men under Magneto’s leadership to fight back against the oppression that threatened them. The world changed around them but Jean does her best to keep up morale and fight to survive and live.

Roleplay Sample He had not been able to help her despite trying to; his barriers had been broken down over the years until finally she made her presence known. That presence was angry, not just angry but completely enraged, and seemed to feel lust deeper then her counterpart. This presence took on a very simple name, a name that would strike fear in the hearts of those dearest to the gentle one of them, Phoenix. It had started with Charles Xavier attempting to help a 12 year old Jean Grey to control her powers, as time went on it was clear that the lessons were not going to work, so Xavier took other steps. He set up mental blocks that would hold her rapidly developing powers until she was old enough to be able to control them, and from that Phoenix was born. It felt like any other day in the city as the redhead stared at the other cars and the people as the cab passed by them. She was quiet as the vehicle took her to a tall building of glass and steel, of the myriad of offices that resided in the building the redhead had only one she needed to go to.
Do you honestly believe this person will be able to help you where he failed?

Do you honestly believe this person will be able to help you where he failed?
Something has to be done about you.
I told you, I am here to stay with you forever, we are two parts of the same whole, I cannot be destroyed. [/I]
We’ll see….
“Lady? Hey lady we’re here. You going to pay me or not?”
The sound of the cabbie’s voice jolted Jean out of her conversation with Phoenix in her head and she handed him some cash before she got out of the cab and stood in front of the building. Jean took a deep breath and headed inside gaining several looks from people she passed. She was dressed in a dark red outfit that Magneto had given her a couple days ago, her long blood red locks flowed down her back nearly blending into the material, and her boots made a soft thumping sound on the tile floor as she headed for the elevator. It had been nearly a week since she had taken the professor’s life and had been taken to the Brotherhood camp. She had slipped away from the camp when she regained her mind intent on trying to stop this once and for all. As she stood in the elevator she stared at the numbers as they flashed for each floor and when hers was reached she stepped out into a small office with a set of double doors across from her.
“You must be Dr. Reynolds 2 o’clock appointment.” The blonde haired secretary replied as she rested behind her desk filing her nails. “One moment.” The woman pressed a button on the phone and it buzzed into the office beyond the doors. “Dr. Reynolds your 2 o’clock is here.”
“Send her in.” A woman’s voice replied before the intercom went dead.
The secretary gestured for Jean to go inside and the redhead gave a small nod before doing so. The office was well lit with windows taking up two walls and showing a view of the New York skyline. Sets of low bookshelves rested against the wall on the left and over them were various diplomas and degrees marking Dr. Reynolds as a psychologist. The woman was in her early fifties with graying black hair and ice blue eyes that were warm as they gazed at Jean. The desk where Dr. Reynold’s sat was clean and neat with a single file folder open in front of her, and there resided a couple of chairs in front of the desk. The only other furniture in the room was a couple of comfortable chairs facing each other with a table between them. The woman rose from behind her desk with a smile and picked up the folder stepping forward to shake Jean’s hand.
“You must be Jean Grey, a pleasure, please let’s sit down.”
Jean accepted the handshake and let go quickly moving to settle down in one of the chairs. Two glasses of water and a pitcher were on the table for those who got thirsty while they talked about their problems, and though Jean’s throat was dry she didn’t touch it. Dr. Reynolds settled down in the other chair with a clipboard that held the file and a pen, the smile remained on her lips as she crossed her legs and met Jean’s gaze.
“Well now, why don’t you start from the beginning and tell me what your problems seem to be.”
What does she mean by problems? There are no problems. [/I]
Don’t start.
Why? You know this isn’t going to work, why not start with how you died and I came to be? Why not tell her that you sacrificed yourself for everyone and I was born from that? It should make for an interesting story and I’m sure she’ll love knowing she’s talking to a dead woman. [/I]
I said to be quiet!
“Miss Grey? Are you alright?”
Jean blinked and looked to the woman whose smile was no longer present. One hand came up to brush the long locks back from her face before settling in her lap. “Sorry….I have been under a lot of stress lately….and it feels as if I am not alone inside my own mind…I have this….other voice that will not leave me alone.”
Other voice, right, come on you call yourself a psychologist and you had to come to her? I should feel insulted that you’re trusting this human to try and get rid of me. She doesn’t even know you’re a mutant, should be interesting if you reveal that. I could do it for you; you’re not exactly putting up a fight to keep me at bay right now. [/I]
Don’t you dare!
“What has happened recently that could have caused such stress and this belief of a secondary voice?
Jean glanced to the doctor in front of her and was silent for several minutes before she found her voice to speak. “Work for one…. its always stressful when you’re a doctor for a bunch of people…. and then I recently lost two people who were very dear to me.”
There you go; explain that you're controlled by an alternate personality that not only killed your husband, sorry Scott, but managed to disintegrate Xavier too. Tell her that this personality exists because the telepath tried to "protect" you and everyone else from your powers, since the majority of them rested in the unconscious part of your mind. And please, try describing how you're now working for the madman who wants to eliminate the non-mutant population, but he himself will probably infuriate me to the point of killing him one of these days. Go ahead, help her out. Oh, that's right; you can't reveal your powers. [/I]
I’m going to gain control, and when I do you won’t be so smug.
Right…..do you remember your last psychologist? [/I]
I try not to….
I’ll bet, but I won’t let you forget. [/I]
“And you believe that these experiences in your life have led to another personality?”
You don’t know the half of it lady. [/I]
Jean managed a nod as a headache started to form behind her eyes. “I do.”
The woman jotted a couple things down on her clipboard and looked up once more. “Try and explain this duel personality in your own words please.”
Well at least she’s talking to you and not just making noncommittal noises when she writes. [/I]
If you don’t stop this I’ll do what I did last time….
You promised you wouldn’t mention that again. [/I]
I lied, push me and I’ll do it.
Don’t get me wrong, usually your methods of torture intrigue me and I applaud you, I just don’t like when it’s used against me. [/I]
Getting ‘It’s a Small World’ stuck in your head doesn’t exactly count as torture.
Speak for yourself, I am in here most of the time remember? I wanted to scream. [/I]
“Miss Grey?”
Jean blinked once more and leaned forward to pick up the glass of water taking a long drink before she was setting it back down. “The knowledge that there was another personality was apparent a couple of months ago. But the actual origin and manifestation started when I was twelve.”
“Try to explain what you can please.”
“Like I said, it feels as if there is someone else here at all times, like there are two different sides to me.”
“You feel like this most of the time? What kind of feelings does this other personality have?”
This should be fun to here, come on Jean, tell her about the fun I had with Logan in the med lab. The heat, the passion, he wanted us, and you would have let him if he hadn’t stopped himself when I showed up. You can’t tell me that doesn’t annoy you a little bit. [/I]
Leave him out of this!
And there I go hitting a nerve, nice. [/I]
Jean nodded. “Yes. There is a lot of rage, anger, and more…..lust then I usually feel. I feel cold and dark whenever I hear this voice, when it tries to break through and speak.”
Reynolds jotted another note down on the page in front of her as she nodded.
“Well you seem to be in control right now, that’s good.”
Give me time. [/I]
Shut up!
“I believe you can control this problem Jean if you keep your stress down.”
There she goes again! Hey lady I can hear you! [/I]
Don’t do it!
The headache increased tenfold causing Jean to grasp her head and let out a cry of pain. Dr. Reynold’s was up from her chair and moving to keel next to Jean in a moment one hand going to the woman’s shoulder as the redhead bowed her head and gritted her teeth.
“Jean, what is it, are you alright?”
The redhead lifted her head a moment later and looked into the doctor’s eyes, emerald green had been replaced by pits of midnight black. A silent snarl crossed the woman’s lips and a moment later found the doctor being thrown back by a telekinetic wave that slammed her into the wall with a cry of pain. Phoenix got to her feet and moved slowly towards the now pinned woman as several objects in the office levitated and the huge panes of glass vibrated and rattled with her power pressing on them.
“You believe you can get rid of me, that all of your study of the human mind and psyche can really do anything to me? Well here’s a newsflash doc, I’m not going away, and the woman in front of you is NOT human!” Phoenix hissed out.
Stop! Don’t kill her she hasn’t done anything to you!
So blind even now, I told you that no one can separate us, but you didn’t believe me. Guess I’ll just have to prove to you that I don’t lie. [/I]
In a split second the doctor’s neck was snapped with a telekinetic jerk and the body slumped to the floor. Phoenix ignored Jean’s agonized screams inside her mind and the windows in the office shattered as one before they were frozen in midair. The door to the office opened and the blonde secretary rushed in coming to a halt in shock and horror at what she was seeing. The last thing those blue eyes saw was thousands of shards of glass racing towards her before there was nothing but blood and bits of flesh covering the office. With that done the redhead started out of the office casually and even stood in the elevator silently waiting for it to get down to the ground floor. As alarms went off in the building Phoenix walked out of the building into the sunlight and gave a small smile as she hailed a cab.
That went well, two minds, one voice, we are one. [/I]
