Apperance:Like most Neyaphem Merrick has a demonic look with fur, three fingers with one being a thumb, two toes to the front and one to the back, eyes lacking pupils, and a prehensile tail.His eyes are light green with black hair normally somewhat long with pointed ears. His fur is a dark red to nearly the color of blood. Merrick weighs 156 lbs and has a height of 6 feet even. Despite his lean and slightly muscular build he is quite flexible and athletically built.
Merrick is often fine with wearing simple t-shirts and shorts, sometimes cargo ones but will occasionally wear pants and long sleeve shirts. But with how the times are he can be found wearing a chain mail sleeveless shirt with shoulder guards brandishing two yellow Xs with spandex shorts with red along the seems and a belt with an X buckle.
Personality:Unlike Amethyst Merrick is more serious and neutral in his attitude. He prefers to make the more cautious approach to most everything and sometimes prefers to keep to himself rather then socialize. This often makes him and his younger sister opposites when being social.
Despite this demeanor Merrick is fairly protective of his sister and his teammates when they are in danger. This is often shows his caring, protective side and that he isn't always serious when it comes to who he is. In fact Merrick can be quite kind and talkative with a little push.

Powers:
Enhanced Agility/Stamina-His agility allows him to make moves with very little effort and helps him often with difficult maneuvers. His stamina is what allows him to continue in activities for far longer then an average man his height and weight.
Enhanced Hearing-HIs hearing is twice as strong as a normal man allowing him to hear at a distance of half a mile away.
Energy Manipulation-Though it's nothing close to powerful Merrick can manipulate his body energy or the energy around him to create a force field which can withstand a strong force of energy or smaller hits of it. He can also make orbs of energy that explode on contact with enough force to send someone flying and cause minor burning.Lastly he can also use this energy to transfer to his swords and arrows to cause heavier damage.

Weakness:
-His serious attitude and loner ways often pushes others away and if in trouble may be too late to call for back up.

History:
Like his sister Merrick was born in a small town in Canada, before it became a waste land but was two years older at the time. He only has a brief memory of their father but has long since pushed it to the back of his mind. Much like Amethyst he excelled in school and took part in some around town until his interests took a different path then Amethyst. Instead of taking up gymnastics he became interested in swordsmanship, archery, and martial arts.
Through several years he honed these skills while also struggling with the opposition growing in his home town.Unlike his younger sister he became more weary of the hate sent at them and the fact they were mutants and their appearance frightened many. This was especially true to those who were quite religious and saw the two siblings as demons. Because of this Merrick began to take a more serious attitude towards others and often did this to push them away. But around when he was 16, Amethyst being 15, his secondary powers manifested to where he could manipulate energy only causing more hatred to grow from the people.
After three more years went by Amethyst had run away and a little taken aback by this Merrick was about to just show the townspeople a piece of his mind before Apocalypse's forces struck. With the decision made for him Merrick ran away and eventually came to join the X-men in fighting back against his forces. But three years later after joining them he was reunited with Amethyst and to this day is glad to have her back and helps the X-men.

Merrick sighed as he was perched on a balcony, watching over the view of Europe below the mountains and thinking to himself. He was reflecting on his time with the X-men, sometimes wondering if he was going to stay there for long or go out on his own to fight Apocalypse solo as many did. But he had heard the rumors of those captured, tortured, and killed when they were found to not be loyal to the eternal mutant. It made his fur stand on end to think of such a fate and Merrick just often dismissed the thoughts immediately.
Sighing he closed his eyes for a moment, feeling a breeze run through his crimson fur and flicking his tail slightly as he sighed. There wasn't much he could do when he thought about it, knowing going things alone would be the worst thing he had done and it would cost him losing his sister again. With a shake of his head, his slightly long hair flying all over before falling flat again he stood and jumped off the rail of the balcony, hearing his stomach growling.
With restless thoughts he hoped lunch would be a good time to push them away and move on. But he wasn't hopeful since these days his thoughts were normally restless.
