Four days after rescue


Ug... Everything hurt. She felt like she'd just been beaten to the edge of death. Her limbs were heavy... Her head was throbbing... She just felt... So tired...

Two Days later:

Everything still hurt, but not as bad. She wasn't even all that tired any more. Her arms were still kinda heavy, but maybe it was the medicine? A beeping noise... What was it? Something was stuck to her chest... A heart monitor? She wasn't wearing her clothes. Of course not. She'd been in the same outfit for years. All because of what she knew.

Where was she? It was a soft bed. Softer than what she'd gotten used to, anyway. It was nice...

A voice... Who's? It wasn't familiar... It sounded like it was from the other end of a long tunnel. Faint, but persistant...

"...tell Magneto she's finally coming around..." Magneto? Right. They were rescued. Magneto was their father's friend... He was in charge of the X-men now. So... She was in their medical facility... She groaned and opened her eyes slowly. So bright... She squeezed her eyes shut again. The ligts were giving her a headache. Why did she feel so weak? Her power... She'd lost control. Yeah. She remembered now.

She felt something on her face. An oxygen mask? Had she really been that close to death? Wow... She hadn't realized that exhausting her powers so thouroughly could do that to her. She would need to be careful.

"Six days... I was worried for her."

"She's so young, too. Did you see her sister's arm?"

"Third-degree burn at least. Direct contact with some hot metal. It's going to leave a scar."

The door opened. Who was it? She couldn't feel the reassuring touch of her sister's mind, so it must be someone else... One of her new teammates? Who was it? Magneto, probably. Or maybe one of his children... She couln't focus. Her head hurt... Something clicked. The pain went away after a few minutes. Ah. Painkiller. So it had just been a doctor. The lights got turned down.

Hikari opened her eyes again and turned her head toward the window by the door. Someone was there... Who was it? One of the people who had rescued her? She couldn't tell...

Laurie had heard about the rescue that had taken place, having been unable to help her fellow X-men at the time since she had found herself in the city at the time. She felt bad for having missed the mission but she had heard things could have been worse, especially when the rescue had taken place at the Vault. Even just five years previous it was known for being a tough place to escape and full of guards. From what she heard it had been no different for the operation to be a tough one but still the others had succeeded to which she was happy about.

Now the blue colored woman was taking the chance to come check on the twins herself, both concerned and curious to their new recruits. Though Laurie wasn't too familiar with their father Xavier personally she had heard much about his suggestions on genetics back before her mutation had occurred and before she had joined the X-men officially a couple years back.

Arriving to the medical bay that lied in the lower underground of the mansion she pushed open the door, at first being quiet just in case the twins were resting. But the doctors seemed to be performing their usual tasks and she spotted a girl, maybe a year or two younger then her, in one of the beds but she seemed awake. From just the looks of it the twin seemed in some rough shape but it seemed more so then her sister who she hadn't yet seen. "Uh hello there, how are you feeling?"Laurie asked kindly as she approached Hikari's side.
