Setting:Nightmare reflects on four years ago before she was an X-man and is a mix of the present and past.
Italic is the past, regular is the present
-----------------------------------------
Megan watched with emotionless eyes as her teammates trained, testing their powers and trying out new combinations. Though she normally would have joined them and show a great enthusiasm as she normally did her thoughts were distracted elsewhere, reflecting upon her past. So many of the X-men still seemed cheerful and hopeful, able to feel joyful moments when she normally was just negative and put on a mask of her feelings.
In reality Megan was feeling resentment, anger, sadness, all these emotions creating a dark void that couldn't be filled it seemed. It had corrupted her spirit, changed her so much. All because of those moments back then...
...Standing suddenly Nightmare quickly made her way from the training room, finding herself suddenly feeling like she was that scared little girl on the ship again. She needed some fresh air, some time to herself as she headed towards the elevator without bothering to see if someone was following.

The boat was making it's way to one of the last remaining ports of the US, making a desperate attempt to get away from the forces of Apocalypse that had attacked Wales. There were several passengers on board upon this vessel, many who were humans trying to escape along with a few mutants. For now there was no worry of who hated who it was a race for survival.
Among these passengers was a 13-year old young girl. She was obviously scared, her small petite frame shaking violently as her wings also occasionally trembled, but she didn't have anyone there to comfort her. All of her family was left back in her town of Abergyoth since there had only been time for Megan to get onto the ship, forced to leave behind everything she had ever known and everyone she had ever loved. For now the only thing keeping her sane was the memory of her mother promising they would meet again and it was the only thing she had to know. But unfortunately for her, along with the other passengers, there was not likely to be a reunion for family.
Soon however, after some days of being on see the ship finally blew it's whistle to warn the passengers on board they had finally arrived. Standing, her muscles slightly cramped Megan made her way towards the steps while following a line of eager people, some who were all too glad to be off the ship, up to the decks above. Megan had to blink a few times before her eyes adjusted to the sunlight, something she had only seen through the porthole window on the ship, and began to move towards the ramp that led down to the dock.
But it wasn't long before the eagerness was turned to pure terror...
